Attention Mountain Bikers!

We had a guest suggest recently that we needed to market to the mountain biking community.  So… Attention Mountain Bikers! Solitude Pointe Cabins & RV Park has two awesome mountain biking trails nearby – Pleasant Ridge County Park and Dupont State Forest.

Pleasant Ridge County Park is located 9.2 miles, or 12 minutes, from us and offers an excellent trail system that includes the Jorge F. Arango (JFA) Trail, the Leroy Smith Trail, Sassy’s Pass and the Mill Creek Path.  The JFA trail is a 5.4 mile trail loop around Pleasant Ridge Park open to hikers and mountain bikers 7 days a week during park hours (8am-dusk). The JFA Trail is directional and rotates monthly – hikers and bikers travel in opposite directions. A trail connector named Sassy’s Pass (+/- 0.7 miles) connects each side of the loop at a lesser grade from the rough cut bridge to behind the ropes course.  The Leroy Smith Trail begins uphill with a wide, wet section (the water seeps from the hillside and it will never be dry). There is a beautiful scenic stop with a waterfall off to the right. Mill Creek Path is towards to top of Pleasant Ridge and is a paved hiking and biking trail.  See the link below for even more information.

Dupont State Forest, located 12 miles or 21 minutes from us, is a 10,473-acre state forest, located in Henderson and Transylvania counties of North Carolina.  It is a wonderful place for hikers, mountain bikers &  equestrians.  Dupont offers mountain bikers ride opportunities ranging from easy forest roads to exciting single track. The trails are shared among all forest users and Dupont has become a leading MTB destination in the southeast.  Again, two links below give lots more information.
