Pumpkintown General Store

I love history! And there is so much to love in the South Carolina Upstate. Thanks again to Only in Your State for their constant reminders of the historical treasures around us. Today, let’s take a quick, 5.8 mile drive from Solitude Pointe to the Pumpkintown General Store.  For 81 years, they have been providing our area with essential items and food, and after a recent re-model, they are still going strong.  They are open for breakfast and lunch 6 days a week – Monday thru Saturday from 6 am to 2:30 pm.  And if you happen to drive by during those hours, you’ll see a parking lot full of work trucks!  Our guests ask us frequently, “where do the locals eat”?  You don’t have to go far from Solitude to find that answer!

Click on the link below and enjoy a brief history lesson.  And then make your reservations at Solitude Pointe Cabins & RV Park and go try it for yourself.  You can thank me later…
