Recreation

-To Do at Solitude Pointe -
Solitude Pointe's recreation was created for couples and families to enjoy in a beautiful and safe setting. We are confident that you will laugh, have fun and build special memories during your stay.

Try:
  • fishing from our dock;
  • hiking our nature trail;
  • and playing basketball,
  • tetherball,
  • horse shoes,
  • yard games,
  • and on the playground.

We are amazed at the number of adults who have forgotten how much fun playing tetherball can be! Come help us pass this old family favorite along to the next generation.
There is nothing that makes us happier than sitting on our front porch and listening to the clink of horseshoes as our guests try their hand at this campground favorite.

Many of our guests enjoy fishing in our own Saluda River. If you have a South Carolina fishing license, you can try your hand at catching some of the bream, trout and catfish that make their home there.

Our smaller guests seem to prefer spending all their time on the children's playground and basketball court!

The nature trail takes you up high looking down on the property then down along the stream with wide and narrow trails. It includes a children's interactive nature hunt with a free gift upon correct submission of findings. Before leaving on your hike, just ask for the form and map.
Fire Pit at Solitude Pointe
Playground at Solitude Pointe
Every Saturday night at 8:00 p.m. (or 7:00 p.m. after the time changes), we gather around the central campfire pit to roast marshmallows and talk and share and laugh together for a couple of blissful hours. The campfire is where friends are found, stories are shared and memories are made. You won't regret the decision to join us!

Every Sunday morning at 9:00 a.m., Amy and Rodney host a brief devotional service.  It is a sweet time of fellowship and worship. No need to dress up, pajamas welcome. As one guest accurately described, "Everyone there was so nice and 'just like family' - sort of like in the good old days." Once again, you won't regret the decision to join us!

Spring time brings beautiful butterflies and birds hovering over the many flowering bushes and trees. From azaleas to mountain laurel to rhododendron bushes, something is always in bloom.

Fall has us wondering at the beauty of God's creation as the trees begin their annual display of color.
Any time of year, you'll find us on the front porch enjoying the swings and rocking chairs and meeting the new friends that come our way.
